Podium Setup (North Campus) Building 50 Room 122

The classroom has two projectors, a left projector and right projector with monitors and a standard touch panel. Layout of system shown below:

Physical Setup of Podium

The cylinder shaped Mac computer is located on top of the podium.  The power button is on the bottom right, above the power cable.

The monitors are considered as sources PC Out 1 and PC Out 2

Panel Layout

Source Controls: Allows you to choose which source you would like to use, such as PC Out 1 (monitor 1), PC Out 2 (monitor 2), Laptop or DVD/VCR.
Projector Controls: Allow you to chose which projector you want to project from.
Audio Control: Choose where you want the audio source to come from (Laptop, (PC Out 1 or 2 are the same for audio), DVD/VCR).

Using the touch panel

  1. Power on projectors by touching the panel. You will notice a progress bar as the system powers up.
  2. After everything is powered on, chose a source that you would like to project.

Example: Project PC Out 1 to the left projector and PC Out 2 to right projector:

  • Select source PC Out 1 and select left projector so it shows PC Out 1.
  • Select source PC Out 2 and select right projector so it shows PC Out 2.

 

Make sure audio is set to PC Out 1 or 2 for sound coming from computer!!!
 



At this point you should see monitor 1 on the left screen and monitor 2 on the right screen!!!!!!

3. To project a laptop, tablet or iPad, connect the device to the popup located on the left side of the podium. There, you will see 2 different connections; VGA and HDMI.

4. Once the device is connected select the “Laptop” source button, then select which projector to use. Below is an example of projector your laptop to the left projector and sound coming from  the computer, if sound needs to come from laptop touch the room audio button until “Laptop” is shown on screen

DVD/VCR Control Panel

  1. Power on the DVD/VCR normally.
  2. Once powered on continue using the touch panel by selecting DVD/VCR source and selecting one or both projectors to use. Select DVD/VCR source for “Room Audio” also.

3. To enable the DVD controls, touch the “DVD/VCR Controls” button. You will then be presented with the DVD control panel.

4. Select the device you wish to use, DVD or VCR

5. On the next screen you will see the familiar looking “remote” like icons.

  1. Play Button: Play video
  2. Stop Button: Stop playback
  3. Pause Button: Pause playback
  4. Forward Buttons: Forwards video
  5. Rewind Buttons: Rewinds video
  6. Directional Pad: Move around menu screen

Extra Features

Audio output is controlled by the source on the panel, such as if laptop is the selected source the audio in the room will play sound coming from the laptop, source is DVD sound comes from DVD and so on. Make a source selection and choose it under the “Room Audio” button. The picture below shows the sound coming from “PC Out 1”.

If you need to blank out one or both projectors for a few minutes you can do so by selecting the “L Projector Picture Mute” button for the left projector and the “R Projector Picture Mute” for the right projector. You can also mute the audio by touching the “Audio Mute” button.

Adjust volume by using the PC or you can use the volume controls on the right side of the panel.

Power off projector by touching the Power button on the top left corner. Confirm shutdown.
