BC Navigate: Instructions for Issuing an Alert
Navigate Early Alert Instructions
STEP 1: Under the Students in My Classes list:
- Select the box(es) next to the student(s) for which you need to issue an alert.
- Select multiple students if you are using the same Alert reason(s) and note content for the Academic Advisor.
- Click on Actions
- Then click on Issue Alert
STEP 2: The Issue Alert form will pop up.
- For individual student alerts, the student’s name will appear at the top. If multiple students were selected, then click on (Show all) to see their names.
- Complete the Issue Alert form:
- Select the reason(s) for the alert from the list.
- Enter information in the Additional Comments box that you wish to share with the Academic Advisor(s) assigned to the student(s).
- Click Submit
STEP 3: Students will receive an automatic email notification that an Alert has been issued, along with links to ASC and other academic support resources that they should utilize to address the academic concern.
STEP 4: The student’s assigned Academic Advisor will receive a notice that an Alert Case has been issued for this student and will reach out to the student.
STEP 5: The Advisor will close the case when the issues has been addressed with the student, or outreach attempts have been exhausted.
STEP 6: An email notification with go to the Faculty member who issued the Alert when the Alert Case has been closed.
