Adding the Course Syllabus in to D2L
There are two ways to upload a course Syllabus in to D2L: HTML Syllabus
For your convenience, please use the HTML Editor (instructions for both li Please note: Internet
Explorer browser is not compatible with the D2L HT Firefox, Safari or Chrome.
1. In your D2L course, click on Content on the course navigation me
2. At the bottom left, click Add a Module and name it “Syllabus”.
3. The syllabus module will now appear in the middle of the page.
4. Click on the blue Upload/Create button and select the Create a File option (HTML Editor)
5. Enter the syllabus title in the designated field (please see image below)
6. On the right, click on the Select a Document Template and scroll to Generic Syllabus option.
7. You may now use the editor to make changes and updates to the template.
8. Remove any fields that are not applicable, by highlighting and deleting the area and clicking delete.
9. Be sure to include the course & contact information, office hours, textbook, course objectives, grading scale, how your grade will be determined, technical requirements. Adding the course schedule is recommended.
10. Click Publish to confirm your changes and save the file.
11. You may edit the document by clicking on the chevron next to the title and selecting Edit HTML from the contextual menu.
Adding a Syllabus as an attachment.
1. In your D2L course, click on Content.
2. At the bottom left, click Add a Module and name it “Syllabus”.
3. The syllabus module will now appear in the middle of the page.
4. Click on the blue Upload/Create button and select Upload Files.
5. Select My Computer
6. Click on the grey Upload button to search your computer for file to add or simply drag the file from a folder into the dotted line with your mouse.
7. Click Add
8. Your file has now been added to the Syllabus Module.
