How to Pin a Class from the Course Selector in D2L

Body

My Courses Widget

From the D2L My Home page, look for the "My Courses" widget to see a list of your classes.

My Courses widget - You don't have any pinned courses

The "My Courses" widget will show a graphical image of your class.

What if my class isn't listed in the My Courses widget?

You may be able to access it using the D2L Course Selector.
Note: You may not have access to the D2L course shell until your Associate Dean has attached you to the class.

Course Selector

All of your available classes can be found using the Course Selector. You can pin a class to add it to the "My Courses" widget or unpin it to remove it:
1. From within D2L, click the Course Selector icon located on the minibar at the top of the page.

The Course Selector on the minibar allows you to quickly search for your classes.

2. Identify the class from the dropdown list. If you are enrolled in a lot of classes, you may also see a search box to find your class by course ID (e.g. MAC1033) or reference number.
3. Click the pushpin icon to pin the class to "My Course" widget. Click the pushpin icon again to unpin it. You may need to refresh the "My Home" page for the changes to take effect.

Pinned classes will have a dark gray pushpin icon. Unpinned classes have a light gray pushpin icon.

A Missing Class

If you are scheduled to teach a class and it is not listed in the Course Selector or View All Courses page... visit the D2L service page for troubleshooting.
For missing workshops and associated practice shells, contact your workshop facilitator or the Center for Teaching Excellence & Learning (CTEL).
Faculty developers commissioned to develop a blended or online course should contact their assigned instructional designer directly for support.
